Once again, Ships together.

Two ships alongside again. This time, its the Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser and the Adelaide Class Frigate.

Wish i could put more ships into one shot, but i am already squeezing it as i dun have bigger diorama for the sea and the sky to make it look awesome. Anyone care to spare a bigger sea floor and larger sky scenery?

Let me noe. Here is the pic of two awesome ship in a squeeze shot.

The Flight Deck with an Australian SH-60 Seahawk Helo

Alongside the DSS Lake is the HMAS Sydney with its complement of the SH-60 Seahawk Helo.

I still miss my old W50. Its macro is so clear compare to my w150. Ugh. W150 takes better overall pics but the macro is real shit. Oh well :p

The Phalanx CIWS

Not too long ago, i was watching Battle 360 on the History Channel. It was reviewing a Naval Battle involving the Japanese Naval Fleet and the US Pacific Fleet which had the USS HOrnet and USS Enterprise.

The programme illustrated the Japanese Coordinated attack of few hundred bomber and fighter planes against the US Naval Fleet.

It got my mind thinking that sincne WW2, the fleets of the world have been decreasing as each ship cost more than it used to be. This is also due to the higher technology each ship possessed.

Last Time, u see ships ladened with macine guns and cannons and their deck cannons. The Common warship had gun power all over its deck.

Now you dun see much guns on each ship as they were before. So what makes the Modern Day Warship for superior in technology if the same fleet or even less ship took on 350 Mitsubishi Zero Fighters?

I can safely say that with regards to the Destroyers and Cruisers of the US Fleet that are armed with the Aegis System, they can lock on multiple targets and exert their Anti-Air SM-2MR Missiles which will be very deadly to at least a big stream of fighters before they even got to visual range. The Ticonderoga Cruiser can armed itself with 122 of such missiles.

Assuming there is a kill rate of 90%. It takes out at least 1/3 of the entire air fleet.

Not forgeting that once the planes are in visual range, they will face the Phalanx CIWS which has around 9km range attack and contains a 20 mm M61 Vulcan Gatling gun autocannon.
Only problem with the CIWS is it does not possess the Identification of Friend or Foe feature (IFF), which has caused a number of Blue on Blue incidents.

DSS Lake Again

Back of the DSS Lake

Its the DSS Lake, A Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser from the DSHCC, or Dashland Armed Forces. This is a closeup on its namesake on the back of the ship. It is also the same location where the quad-pod Harpoon II laucher is. Of which i will be upgraded to Harpoon 3 real soon.

Im still marvelling at the wonders of the W-50 macro. With a lil creativity, we can make great pictures wif the digicam. Problem is.. it will be far harder with the W150 with a min macro distance of 10cm, which is bad. Thus i will need to use a manifying glass to create the macro focus effect manually.

The Bird Eye view of Warships

Adelaide Class Frigate and Ticonderoga VLS

Always have a thing for Naval units.

And here we have the birds eye view of a Ticonderoga VLS Class Cruiser and the O.H Perry Class Frigate.

I love the colors in the picture and I am most definitely looking forward to construct and get my projects done. Plus my shipment of GHQ naval units have arrive. When all the kits are done, it will be time for me to construct my GHQ naval fleets comprising of US made and Russian made ships.

The Soldier and His Armour

The next batch of pictures including the previous entry comes from my old camera. It will be the last time my old camera take pictures because my old W-50 has broken down again.

With a macro feature that provides clarity of macro focus to 2 cm, it is way better in providing detail compared to my new W150 Sony Digicam. Nevertheless, the pictures will still keep coming in. And now with the help of Joshua, my Photography partner in crime, he shall be contributing to both hobby blogs. YEAPPERS.

I must say that th epics that we have come up for this batch is the best so far. Almost all pics are clear and great in colour. The perspective is also very good and has a real punch to it.

Here is a Soldier looking onward while standing guard next to the Warrior IFV.
This shot provides a closer and more focus shot and a more personal angle of the last entry.

I put in the Vintage Sepia effect to give a more greater feel of the picture and the "war" effect in it.

Enjoy.

A Game Im Gonna Get Soon

Here we have it. World in Conflict
A Game based on the "what if" scenario of the US getting attack by Cold War adversary Russia. Set in a modern day backdrop, this game has a great single player campaign with REALISTIC modern day units unlike their RTS counterparts like Red Alert that have really wierd out units.

This is a definite must buy for modern military enthusiast and it has also great multiplayer gameplay too.

You as a player take the role of one unit of either infantry, armor, support or anothe rrole which i have forgotten. Micro manage ur unit to victory and it involves fightnig in a highly detailed visual map.

Wikipedia should provide u better details into this game. As for me, im just suggesting and recommending a nice military game.

Trailers rock too. Check it out here

This is the official Trailer. An it looks seriously awesome.

This is the NYC invasion Trailer. Featuring the Song Shadow of the Sun by Audioslave and Lead Singer Chris Cornel. Love the song. The first time i heard it was on Collateral. Surreal song.

On another note, gonna start a military campaign game between WT and Josh which will be playtested by WT first followed by Joshawhen he comes back at the end of the year. Furthermore, the new batch of photoes has been done. Largely taken by Josh and with a lil direction from me, the photoes will be edited and ready for posting soon. You will probably see the first set by mid-year.

In any case, Josh shall also be contributing by posting some of the new entries and helping me out too and Im really glad to have an additional hand. Much appreciated by me to Josh. Cheers all.

The Warrior

A very nice Old Film Ambience Pic of the Warrior IFV and its troops.

These figures are courtesy of Joshua from Battlefield Evolution.

The Warrior IFV and Troops
Gideona's Troopers on defense and the GDI's Warrior providing Armor support.

After reviewing the pic i took, I felt it has a good layout with good background and it looks convincing that they were on the ground and ready for a fight.

The Soldiers and the Armour Vehicle also are in good scale and proportion to each other

The Guns of the Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser

Hey all, its a new year with more new stuff.. WOOT. And first entry of the year is NAVAL

The 5-Inch/54-caliber (Mk 45) lightweight gun is a modern U.S. naval artillery gun mount consisting of a 5-inch (127 mm) L54 Mark 19 gun on the Mark 45 mount. It is designed to be used against surface warships, for anti-aircraft use and shore bombardment to support amphibious operations.

The gun mount features an automatic loader with a capacity of 20 rounds. These can be fired under full automatic control, taking a little over a minute to exhaust those rounds at maximum fire rate. For sustained use, the gun mount would be occupied (below deck) by a three-man crew (gun captain, panel operator, and ammunition loader) to keep the gun supplied with ammunition.

The Ticonderoga Gun
The Mk 45, (54 Caliber) gun. Packs a real shelling on the Enemy.

When i look at the Ticonderoga's guns. I only have 1 thought on my mind. Coastal Bombardment.

OBviously, you will not see ship battles involving this weapon unless it is to ward off pirates and light armed seaboats.

Till next entry, Cheerios

and a Happy New year 2009!

Vintage take on the C130

Front View of the Hercules
Frontview of the Transport Bird, C130.

Everytime i see this plane, I am tempted to play COD4 Single Player again. :p

Nonetheless, COD4 is still by far the best FPS Modern Combat games i have played. (Second would be Battlefield 2)

B&W Hercules

Its the C130 Hercules Transport Airplane.

One of the Mainstay for the US and DSHCC Airforce. The iconic four engine turboprop plane can carry a maximum of 92 passengers or 64 airborne troopers. It can travel at a speed of 610km/h and has many variant.

One of the most coolest variant of the Hercules is the one both featured in Transformer and Callof Duty 4. Yes thts right.

Its the AC130 Gunship with its variety of weapons ranging from 30mm machine guns to 105mm Cannon. BAM

Not ur usual suspect

So you think it would be your usual suspect of American Vehicles?

Today, we feature the Saab Viggen in digitally-editted format.

Saab Viggen

The Saab 37 Viggen is a swedish single seat fighter jet for the Swedish Airforce. Maximum spee dof Mach 2.1 and it can carry the usual suspect of american air to air missiles and RB71 Skyflash.

It got phased out in 2005 and was replaced by the JAS 39 Gripen. Last flight of the Viggen was in June 2007.

The cool thing i like about this pic is that the plane is a real micromachine model and the editing has made it look like a picture painting .The Blue hue and the shader for the picture makes the plane look like a very nice pristine drawing that can be a shirt imprint design.

Whats your take?

Obviously a digitally-edited picture but the model of the submarine is real.

Armyman

Its a Dashland Army Trooper in Desert Camo behind an M1A2.

Soldier on Lookout
This is one of my best telescopic macroshot of my military models

I like the focus shot on the trooper while the tank is blurred out. Cool Goggles he is wearing for the desert or urban backdrop.

The Tank is by Micromachines and the Trooper is by Battlefield Evolution. (Love the Desert combat outfit)

The Tank Camp

Hi all again. I have started on my next Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser and getting to use my airbrush to give its first primary coat. I must say that i am pretty amazed at the sheer precision of the model airbrush bt i feel tht its widespreadspray feature lacks the intensity with regards to gray colour paint. I have yet to see how good it will work with other colours.

Nonetheless, progress is in the midst and you will get to see picture of a great fleet of 1/700 DSHCC ships soon.

Furthermore, i have seen my GHQ models and i am very please at the great detail and the reasonable cost of acquiring the models that i have ordered. The ships are detailed and requires little or no assembling. This is similar to the armour units for GHQ and alli need to do is paint. Less Work for me to do, so that more effort can go to painting it real well.

As for now, Its Dashland Armed Forces M1A2 in an outfield camp geting ready for operations

Two M1A2 in camp
Hope u guys like the pic and the detail i put into the tanks

See ya next week ;)

Follow up on the Convoy.

Sideview of the convoy on the road in black and white. I really like the wheels on the medical convoy vans. They are the same iconic mini wheels that are used in the classic micromachine cars and vehicles when i was a kid.

I can still remember the time when i saw the first micromachine. At tht time, i was more orientated to Matchbox cars and hotwheels. Both this brands were way bigger in company size and products.. literally. But matchbox was so cool.. wanted to get one.. but never got the opportunity in the end till micromachines military came out.

Enjoy the pics.

Been focusing a lot on the Big Guns and mainstay units on this blog. Now a picture on the more lighter and more frequently used vehicles in the army.

This picture is a medical convoy being escorted by the Hummer to a designated location.

An upclose view of the F22

I like this shot.. where the Sun shines on the tarmac and gives a nice reflection on the cockpit of the F22 while idling tyres lay next to the plane. Sometimes, without the human presence, pictures like this gives a sense of serenity and calming silence.

F22 Raptor

The Proliferation of F22 into the US Airforce is going on well and the number of F22 in the Airforce has increased to near 200. Thus, the mainstay superior advanced fighter is going to be the F22. Finally after a few years, the F22 has become a vital part of the airforce including DSHCC air units.

This is a pretty welld one diecast by Majisto though im not too sure about the quality of its recent collectibles. Enjoy. :D
