The Patriot Missle and the M983

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The M983 Transport carries a weapon that is of primary importance to the Missile Defense Shield against Ballistic Missiles. Also known as the Patriot Missile, the MIM-104 is a surface to air missile and has assumed the role as anti-ballistic missile (ABM) platform, which today is Patriot's primary mission.

It is the only anti ballistic missile system that has have successfully engaged and destroyed a tactical ballistic missile in combat and the only SAM system which has successfully provided a maneuver force with tactical ballistic missile protection.

Onto other news, the Ticoderoga has progress a little since the last ime and the Funnels of the Ship will be up soon. A photo will follow up promptly. With a breather of some good span of time in the hols, it should be completed and the next project shall get into play. :D

Onto other military news, just played BF2 after a long while, MUST BEAT My friend's 32 Killing streak which is insane, but not IMPOSSIBLE. Time to get me a new badge too followed by increasing my points closer to 20,000 to get tht Promotion. MUAHAHAHAHA.

Till next time. See ya

Production slowdown

As said in my other blogs, you will notice that time is not a luxury or in abundance. Plans or objectives i have setout for the last weekend, ended up delaying. Do not even have time to post entry with pics. One thing is for sure, for this week, i will at least do what was projected to be completed. Besides, the one week hol should come, by then i will setout to complete the Ticonderoga VLS and if im lucky, many more of the projects set out this year.

On other updates, i have played BF2 recently with WT and Qap. Got my veteran badge for Support Kit and Ammo Resupply. WOOHOO. Long way from officer though. But Ultimately still the best modern wargame in the market.

Next entry will definitely feature a new pic. So all you eager beavers, stay tune. Will be testing out my tabletop wargame for the land forces next too after doing both sea and air. So will give you an update and review soon.

See ya

Standoff with the Enemy

Its one of those pictures i wanted to take to put the tension between friend and foe. Like the picture where tanks from the Western powers clashed in a junction with thoe of the Soviet sight. A really high tension picture which shows the wary feelings each ahved for each other.

Here, the DSHCC forces, clash in close range with the SCT Forces In the Open Area of a Rocky Desert Land.

As the conflict is escalating to full intensity.

Tanks are pointed in each other as the clash between both sides is so closely spaced.
Truce is being setup between both Commanders to fight another day.

Took me quite a while to setup this pic,in any case, it is away from the frequent plane pics recently. Next entry should be the display of the progress of my Cruiser. SO LITTLE TIME, SO MANY THINGS TO DO!

The Age Old Bomber that has seen it all...

The B52, since the end of World War 2 till present day. It has retain its role as the Strategic Bomber of the United States. For 50 over years, the B52 bomber has been in conflicts around the world, providing aerial bombardment for the United States. With a payload of 27200kg, it dwarves all bombers payload in the USAF. The Airforce intends to keep them till 2040 and if no bomber replace the B52H till then, its lifespan would be 90 years plus since the first B52 flew. A incredible achievement by any military aviation standards.

I present to u, the B-52H, Strategic Bomber, and Great Bomber in Aviation History

News of the Ticonderoga VLS, similar to the other hobby of mine, the Ticonderoga VLS construction is at a halt. It will resume on a slow level as stated before. But will give u a picture update soon.

The C5 Galaxy in scale

With many of my models in either scale 1:72, 1:144 or 1:700, it is easy to see how big or small each model is in comparision to something else of the same scale. So as promised, here is my C5M Galaxy with an Armor Detachment around the plane.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The magnitude of the size of the C5M. The M1A1s, behemoths by their own right are dwarved by the Giant C5 Galaxy.

Onto other note, its been a tiring week, and it isnt over yet. I hardly have time to fix parts of the Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser. I will get back to it on the weekend i guess. Weekdays are too packed at the moment. Progress very slow for the time being, will speed up soon if my weekends are ok.

The Sky Giant of the World: C5 Galaxy

They don't call it the Galaxy for nothing. The C5 Galaxy is a Military Transport Aircraft design to provide strategic heavy airlifting. Capable of carrying a load 179,000kg, that is equivalent to 2 M1A2 tanks and probably another M2A2 Bradley and extra baggage. That is most definitely a big load to carry. It is the largest Military transport in the USAF and one of the largest aircraft in the world. Designed to carry oversized and ousied cargo, it is a behemoth to behold.

Another view of the C5M on the runway.

On other updates, the Ticonderoga is 60% to 70% complete. But with the festive season going on and other agendas i need to attend to, i will be stalling quite a lot. There is still room though for my M1A2 upgraded Tanks. So far i have done 2 and 1 more left to be converted to M1A2, the rest of the vehicles are still awaiting the paint upgraded, including the 1:72 scale M1A2 from the Force of Valour Brand.

Falling out now. Ciao.
My next entry will be featuring the C5M in scale. Showing how big it is.. literally. :p

Dogfight, F-22 vs Su-27

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Though it is highly unlikely this will happen as the F-22 is capable of firing AIM-120 AMRAAM that are capable of Beyond Visual Range (BVR) targeting and killing of the Su-27, on top of its significantly low radar signature, it is hard for the SU-27 to detect it, but it is a good view of Russian Technology against US Technology, with the two birds in high manoeuvre, it is a wonderful sight, I must admit the shadows of the F-22 and Su-27 spoils it, but nevertheless a good contrasting feature.

Any opinions on who would win? They did do a exercise simulation where 3 F-22 fought with 21 F-15s, in which the final combat result was all the F-15s shot down and none of the F-22 detected. Anyone can differ to that notion?

On other updates, the Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser is well underway, and could finish soon. I seem to be ahead of the yearly schedule. Which is a good thing :D.

Till next entry, RTB!

Joint Task Force. A game i have bought.

Well people, I have stumbled acroos a game when i was in Johor Bahru, Malaysia a month ago or so. The game titled Joint Task Force, uses Command and Control gameplay similar to that of Command and Conquer, only that the Units are all modern day warmachines and personnal. With relatively high action strategies, and realistic scenarios, it isnt as outrageous or as non-realistic as that of the Command and Conquer game. Thus i feature it in my blog.

But with a Gamespot review of 6.5, it is quite a disappointment to the top-notch reviewer, as it explains how the game has no room for errors and how rigid the gameplay can be. And with no muc of a good plot, and too much micro management needed and lousy AI for ur forces u need to spoon feed it with the ltiniest of commands, it is hard to absorb and enjoy the great battle scenes and urban fighting. I trust gamespot a lot to brace the fact it might be a crappy game. But nevertheless, u will hear my own personal review.

Toodles.

Adelaide Frigate Upgraded!

This is funny, because i have recently been doing a lot of stuff on top of redecorating all the blogs. And with my scary sleeping time, i decided yesterday to sleep early. I was about to finish up my potography near the wee hours of 2 to 3am when i decided to get on with upgrading my Adelaide Frigate. And I did it all, on top of upgrading two M1A1 AIM tanks to M1A2 SEP by just making the CITWs on the turret. As for paint coat i have not done it yet. Will do it soon though. As for my Ticonderoga VLS Cruiser, I shall pursue it to the next phase of its construction tomorrow. So without furthur ado, Here is the Finale of my Adelaide Frigate, the HMAS Sydney with the VLS upgraded.

With this indication picture among others, I tried to sculpt the VLS in its likeness

And here is the final product. You can compare it with my last entry of the Adelaide Frigate.

The reviews of these pictures will come at worst once every week guys. ;) So Stay tuned.

There will also be new stuff coming up too. I have receive some suggestion of a Showdown comic like review apart from the Blog entries. OF which i will contemplate on it.

Long overdue of no features but new additions on Blog

As you may have know, its been a VERY Long time since i last feature ANYTHING. I have also promise for Plane models but hardly have the time to do any of my hobbies. But since i could not feature any planes, i was thinking why not jus add some pics and additional stuff that involves planes. So as u can see, its a lil moe colourful inside here. So pls bear wif me.. it will be a while till i show my next feature. But it will be quite a few aircrafts for the next few features.

As for upgrades of this blog, there will be more coming. I keep hush about it so u people will be excited about it. LOL...

Till then, i look forward to ur eager anticipation to see the next few stuff. Got quite a good response for this blog but so many do not come forth about the hobby. I hope it will turn out differently. In any case, it is my photo journalism of my hobby.

Wargame By Me

Well, Im a nerd, but i would like to see a modern day type of wargame similar to the Allies & Axis version. And well they dont have that. Yes Force of Valour has a tabletop rules which u can adapt for their models to be a game but it doesnt Have planes, Helicopters or Warships and submarines integrated with it or a seperated tabletop game for modern warships or planes. So i made a system which can integrate all three platforms of the armed forces using one concept and same stats. With a lil ideas ripped from Warhammer.

Will not review anything yet as i have to test out whether it can be a fun game or not.

On the latest update, i will be putting down this years projects i will accomplish before 2007 ends. There will also be a new sector in the sidebar where i will put my video link there so u need not have to revert to whatever entry to see it. And This year, i might just do another vid. The storyboard concept has been drawn few months back but i really have no time for anything.
Hear u want to see my planes too, and so i will be showing more for the next entry. Be sure to watch out ;)

Back to Dangerous Waters

I have tried out the game again and have completed successfully 3 more missions. Well of which the last one i have use the see truth option which enable me to detect enemy and classifying them as hostile or non hostile upon contacting them on radar. Its far more easier than the having to classify ur own bloody self whether its hostile and allso what variant of ship it is. I guess to be a real simulator, u gotta be goddamn adapt and patient to play this naval game. And besides, From a ship to a Submarine, u most definitely need more than a dozen man to manned and put the ship in harm's way to combat against and enemy, while ur playing it solo on the simulator. Its hard. Rock Hard for me even as a naval ethusiast who enjoys making models of modern warships then land and air models. Hard to find any other hobbyist who shares the same interest.

Guess I will be using show truth in the many other missions i will be embarking. They have some missions where you must manually steer ur goddamn ship out of a fucking port, and tht is bloody hard and requires some fast forwarding of time as it takes a long time to get it out of port onur own without tugboats, even for an Adelaide class Frigate.

With that being said and as i said before, the reason the game got an 8.3 cos it is TOO DAMN REAL. Dangerous Waters is not for kids, teen, or even adults who jus wanna bash smash and kill, let alone shoot and bomb someone. Its is definitely for a cold hard naval enthusiast who loves the time to take to be involved in Naval COmbat.

BMP2 and Updates

Been getting comments on people's likes for more Russian weaponary and so here is my feature for today. Even though the pic has been in my gallery for a long while, never really feature this warmachine on an entry. Well images will be even more clearer from now on. With the acquisition of a new Camera, expect to see more grater image and close up shots.

The BMP2 is an armoured personal carrier/Infantry fighting vehicle. The Peer to the US M2A2 Bradly, the Russian BMp2 can carry about 1 or 2 more personnals in it depending on the variant, though usually 7 additional personnals on top of the 3 Crew needed to man it. With its 100 mm gun and 30mm autocannon, it has adequate firepower. With the option of arming with TOW ATGMs, it has enough firepower if not more than the M2A2. But with the ill maintenance of the Russian Army, Officers have complain of its lack of efficiency from firing the gun to its electronic system. The BMP2 has indeed suffer harsh critics, but perhaps there have been much rectification since then.

On other updates, the painting and construction of my next Ticonderoga VLS Class cruiser is in progress, with Harpoon Quad Launchers ready up, on top of the Seahawk. The next paintjob and upgrade of vehicles will depend on the spare time i have though, of which I do not have a lot at the moment :p. It will be a while till my next update, but do keep tuning in or give me a buzz. :P

The LAV 25 done!

Yes my final paint job of the LAV 25s. These are the minature collectibles. Got a sudden liking for them due to their mobility and resillence in Battlefield 2! With their Bushmaster M242 chaingun, they are fine representation of armoured mobility on wheels.

Speaking of Battlefield 2 though, its been quite a while since i last played it. Two of my comrades cpu are downed. Only leaving 3 active personals which hasnt been totally able to meet up to play :P.

Anyway, take a look at the LAV 25 :D For ur info though, the LAV 25 doesnt have an ATGM, only the LAV TOW variant does. Enjoy the pics!

Another note to I recently discovered. If u military enthusiast remembered of the RAH-66 Comanche Attack Helicopter Project. Well it has been cancelled in Feburary 2004 to direct funds to upgrading and maintenance of current helicopters like the AH64 Longbow. Really late news, but hey, its jus me alone checking out for such stuff :p.

The Comanche has been put down along with the pic i have of it. Yes, i always keep updated with my photo gallery. As long as any War Vehicles Land Air or Sea have been decommisioned or put down, it will be deleted from my Pic Gallery along with being kept in the decommision containment area of my miltiary collection where most out of date stuff are. But perhaps it may come back. Who knows. :D

The Adelaide Class Frigate

Well, The Much anticipated HMAS Sydney, Adelaide Class Frigate. Also Known as the O H Perry Class Frigate, but sold to Australia and given the design to make the Adelaide class. One thing that i lack in the pic is the recent 8-Cell MK41 VLS for 32 ESSM which is install forward of the Mk13 Launcher that they have added on the HMAS Sydney. I will be doing the conversion next year, preferbly, but not now. :P Although my model is not so up to date, all the rest of the other Adelaide Class have yet to be upgraded and look as how My Model is featured.

Sorry for the Long Delay

I must admit there has been a long delay on the pics, even though I finished my Adelaide Class Frigate quite a long while ago, on top of the fact that i have a shitty camera with low battery life span, Thus i have decided to purchase a new one. Im still in the midst of painting the ticonderoga, doing most of the basecoat and getting ready o assemble the primary parts. Next to that, I have done some basic works up on the Tabletop Military Game. Gonna finish it soon.

Concurrently, my next project will be researching on how the M1A2 differs from the M1A1 and try to make a good mini model conversion. Next up will most definitely be pics of not just the Frigate but also the LAV i have done. :D Stay tune and HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND MERRY XMAS! :D

Here is a new pic before the new pics of the products of my projects will be shown. STAY TUNE!

Gunnery Sergeant!

Promoted to Gunnery Sergeant for BF2. hahah gosh it wud be crazy to count all the way to 1Lt. But hell its all in the fun of playing with Frens or Enjoying the Game. Still, i dun feel the grinding in it. :D Cos it doesnt force u to play and go back to it like an MMORPG does.

On other issue, the Adelaide Class Frigate is done. But i might need to do a conversion to add the 8 quad VLS for HMAS Sydney as stated. Hopefully i can do a good conversion job. But other than that the Frigate is finish. Next Project is Another Ticonderoga VLS Class Cruiser. And pehaps in the midst, do the paint job fo my other military vehicles.

Patiently Wait my Fellow Hobbyist :D

Progress of the OH Perry.

Well since I last left off, the O H Perry Class or a.k.a Adelaide Class Frigate was about 1/3 done. Now Im already more than halfway thru. Just need to do a few touchups here and there, before i can make it the HMAS Sydney since i cant really be bothered to make many conversions to make a current O H Perry US Frigate. In current Navall News, Most of the Adelaide Class Frigates are getting and upgrade, including the input of an 8 VLS panel for anti aircraft missiles.
Well after this ship it will be onto either the new Flight 2A Arleigh Burke or the Ticonderoga Cruiser. Similar to my other hobby blog, I plan to complete all my Projects in Progress that are displayed by the end of this year. Well the next entry will be the display of the final product, The Adelaide Class Frigate. Stay Tuned

My Transaction of the Ticonderoga Cruiser U.S.S Mobile Bay

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

After trying to wait for months from Hobby Focus to get the Kit, I was able to acquire it from Timemachine Studios on my unplanned visit to the store the other day. Dragon Models are indeed getting better. The New Arliegh Burke Ships have photo etch parts, something which I am totally unfamiliar with and will require some learning after I complete my pending models.

Have Just recently completed a paint job overhaul for my 2 LAV 25s, and will be onto the Next Vehicles and will show you reviews of the Construction Progress of the O H perry Frigate.

Till Then, JQ signing off.

Timemachine Studios at Millenia Walk

A year ago, I met my old Geog Teacher from my High School. We were talking about the Hobby of Modern Military Model Making. We discuss many stuff about the really Unique hobby we have that is not normally associated to many teens or kids. He is an avid Modern British Army Model Maker. and i got to discover it during those free periods in our class with him. Definitely a Zany Teacher and was quite intrigue that he makes Modern Military Models, he apparently has a battalion of soldiers and Armour Attachment the Battalion and Support Vehicles. From ranks and intricate details on the soldiers to the effects of his painting or so i heard, he has a collection to die for. But he focused more on the land forces while I am more of the all rounder. Well, he knows i frequent Hobby Focus (A Models Shop in the Heart of the City that specialises in Modern Military Ships Planes and Vehicles) and had recommend me a few places in Millenia Walk, well but being used to my Hobby Focus Shop i didnt really pay particular attention, besides i could always order the stuff I wanted from the SHopowner when stock is not available. On hind side, it would have taken a very very very long time, but he provides the best materials to paint though at quite a hefty price.

Well just the other weekend, I was walking along milennia walk wif my Pal WT, and decided why not I take a look at the Model Shops mentioned by my Teacher. Found one called Timemachine Studios and oh my god, it is liek a Dragon Model Heaven. They have everything from Land Air and Sea models of Dragon. Diorama and other accesories and Action Figures Included. Oh, and the brushes and paints are FAR CHEAPER!!!! I have always been a supporter of Dragon, and seeing this new store i have stumbled upon has let me to put this shop as my first choice stop for models, second would still be hobby focus for me to order particular models, but seeing that Timemachine Studio has the New U.S.S Mobile Bay Ticonderoga VLS Class Cruiser that i wanted and i have ordered so LONG ago but hasnt come from Hobby Focus, it will be a while before i go back to there. Just bought the Model Kit from Timemachine Studio, and i have even viewed some latest model ship kits i havent even seen from the Dragon Website yet.

For all the Local Singaporean Enthusiast of Modern Military Model, Dragon offers high grade detail Models, and Timemachine Studio is the place to go if u have not yet discovered it. Give it a browse. ;)
